Who is eligible to receive financial aid?

Financial aid requests should be limited to emergency and/or critical situations. Any current client of C.O.R.R.’s Outpatient Treatment program and/or their affiliates and/or current members of this association in good standing may present a written request for aid at any time. Board members may not apply for financial aid. No other member may directly or indirectly benefit or seem to benefit financially in any way from any individual’s request. There may be rare instances where certain individuals that do not meet these criteria may be given special consideration by this association due to their circumstances.

What is the process to receive financial aid?

The granting of financial aid should be only after all other options and resources have been exhausted. There is no limit on the number of times aid may be requested, but that could be a consideration as to whether aid is granted. The primary concern in granting aid should be would this help or enable? The ability to repay is not a determining factor in the granting of financial aid. These requests should contain the following information:

1.     The reason and the amount needed.

2.     Any supporting documents; contracts, bills, past due notices, ect.

3.     The estimated length of time aid will be needed.

4.     A viable and realistic repayment plan.

5.     List all other options and resources that have been exhausted. Provide dates, contact names and phone numbers.

6.     Show why this could have a direct affect on their ability to continue in their sobriety and/or keep their family together.

All information must be verified. Each individual request for financial aid must be approved by a unanimous vote of the Board of Trustees. Any Board member who has a direct relationship with any applicant (such as, but not limited to, spouse, significant other, family member or client) must excuse themselves from the voting process. Applicants will not receive money directly. Aid will be given in the form of vouchers, food cards, etc. Checks will be made out and sent to the institution money is owed.
